Can cars run on veggie oil?

I read a story about a car that did not need gas and it could run on biofuel ( veggie oil ). First we answered pre reading questions, and then we read half of the story and answered some questions during the story. Next we read the rest of the story and answered the last few questions. Now I have finished all my questions
